Bengaluru's Namma Metro Yellow Line Pushed to Year-End, Trial Runs Begin

Commuters in Bengaluru will have to wait a bit longer for the Yellow Line of the Namma Metro. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has pushed back its commercial launch to the end of this year, prioritising thorough testing and regulatory approvals.

Trial Runs Commence with Driverless Technology:

The wait, however, doesn't come without progress. BMRCL commenced trial runs on the Yellow Line. A highlight of these trials is the utilisation of a prototype driverless train recently imported from China. This advanced technology will undergo rigorous testing, including signal checks, on March 7th and 8th.
